I was on a photo shoot last week. We were on location in the countryside. The home-owner had a sprawling, magical garden. Early one morning he gave me & my friend a tour. He cut a sprig off his asparagus plants that had gone to seed, one for each of us. I had never seen it in this stage of it's life. Before, when I had thought of asparagus, it would call to mind spring greens with maybe a little purple or sickly never-seen-the-light-of-day yellow & off-white. Now it's all gold tendrils and coral-persimmon berries casting blue shadows on my wall.
